A rather creepy trio. The two dark haired people are siblings. The woman on the right is the one doing the whispering. I really don't feel like saying any more on the situation than that.
Originally started this one to play around with costume design, hence the simple poses and background. Wanted the albino woman's dress to look vaguely buglike and stiff. Wanted the overall feel of the three costumes to be pretty dark and decadent.
This ended up getting darker and darker as I went along. I always feel a little uneasy submitting really dark pics. They usually end up looking wrong on any computer screen other than my own. With this one, you should be able to see some brown patterns on the center woman's skirt. You should also be able to see a tiny bit of texture detail on the arch and walls almost all the way up to the top before they're lost in the shadows. The floor has a pattern on it that ought to be fairly easy to see. If you don't see any of these, the pic is way too dark. And if the blacks look milky or grey, then the pic is too bright.
The usual. Start to finish on Photoshop. No references. I'm not sure how long this took. I've been tinkering with it on and off for a long time now.

As a yearly costume designer/maker I first thought of how beautiful the dresses were and how I would love to create them in real life. Then I read about the comment of it was originally for costumes sake. I must say they are beautiful.

this drawing smells full of quality. It has atmosphere and its own story. And by making me see this with only one simple look, it proves that you've done what you should.

This is great! ^.^ I really love the texture the cloth has and the overall feel of it. The only guff I have is with the albino womans hand on her hip, its perhaps a bit too small, and it looks not quite weighted on her hip. More like she's touching it than resting it there.

I can not believe the level of detail you have in this. Your image looks animated, but your textures are photorealistic. Wonderful work. The trio is quite creepy and fantastically drawn so.

incredible, but you know that...the textures for the patterns on the dresses are a really nice detail, I think im one of the ones who has a dark screen (hate that too on one dark piece I did it was the same problem for me... things disappeared into each other), but they still look cool and you can actually see the definition a good bit, just not all the texture if there is more on the wall. Anyway, I especially like the fur textures...and oh my blood on her hands as well? Hm... I hope they come up with a good conspiracy...

And I know what you mean about the whole darkness thing... usually whatever looks good on my monitor looks like crap on anything else that I view it with, or at least different in a way that I don't like. They should just start mass-producing monitors with the same specs. And every home should have the same one. Always.
Are you gonna do any follow-ups to this piece? 'Cause this feels like so much more than a simple costume design experiment.
