really like how you kept the guy and the girl in very pale colors
with the background in dark red brushstrokes... makes the attention go directly to the subject.

the positioning is also interesting... the way that they are facing away from each other.
they might be sharing one blanket, but you can feel the distance between them.

is the guy troubled? he looks as though he's struggling with something, and that's keeping him from sleeping.
I like the addition of the cat too.
makes the atmosphere feel very domestic

beautiful,lush red against the more restrained colours...the kitty seems to add an extra element of pathos...one of the most expressive watercolours [and prettiest couples!!]..I've seen in a long time...

subtle maybe, since well almost all says that shes a he.
but i thought the sex of both should be rather obvious aye?

even though they are inches apart it seems like they are miles away

I love the subtle washes on the sheets and pillow - I adore the hair! - to the harsh, solid shadows of his fingers on the red.
And I love the how... dead the red looks here. It provides the contrast against the pale colours of the sheets and skin, but to me, the red looks cold.
