Its a good job, but I think you should put on the description something like "homage to Giger", cause, as you mentioned, people should know that Todd Mcfarlane wasnt the creator of spiderman, as you are not the creator of this textures and style. Here you're taking credits for Giger's creation, as you can see in people's comments...

Wow and if you had any iota of what you were actually talking about you'd know that Giger wasn’t the first to do what he did, he was just the most popular due to the Alien franchise.

Here is a reference of another artist who came 20 years before Giger, does that make Gigers work invalid?

[link]

Not to mention that if your opinion was valid, you're discrediting almost every single artist of the 19th & 20th century! Everyone borrows from everyone. While McFarlane did not create Spiderman, he took the image and made it his own. Does that mean he should sign it "Stan Lee"? No of course not.

I don’t claim to be as good as or better than Giger and while people find the need to ignorantly ridicule me, weather it be their own personal issues or lack of information, for merely using an airbrush to express my self artistically with xenomorphic abstracts. If you actually looked at what I was painting you would see it for what it is and notice the many differences.

By no means am I mad at you or feel like your a bad person at all, I do feel you should think more about what you post on someone’s page before actually saying it. Maybe next time post something more constructive instead of accusing some one of theft. If you had said something to the extent of "While you borrow techniques from Giger I would like to see you move away from his style" I would have responded to in a very different way.

Please take my words in to consideration and may you have many positive experiences on Deviant art. Peace be with you.

Ok, I really dont remeber if I've mentioned, but I liked your piece, I just think that art is more about inovation, but it doenst make any other work less important or interesting. Beksinski's work is very diferent of Giger's in many ways. What happen is that your piece is so simular to Giger's work that it makes it a good homage to him, I still belive that I wasnt being agressive. I might have expressed myself badly cause english isnt my language. And also, your first paragraph was really unecessary. Based on what you said that I have no idea of what Im saying? I might be only an arts student, but I might know what Im talking about. I know you were trying to teach me a lesson, and I honestly apreciate that (Im not being sarcastic at all), but I still belive in what I've said before, sorry. I can back up what I said with people you would respect more, professors of art from here, but there is no need of doing that, right? Any person's opinion is valid, im my opinion at least.

Sorry about the size of my comment, love be with you, and hey, keep with the good work

It looks impressive. It looks a bit too blury though, but that shouldn't affect the glory of this piece.
What is it though? As when I saw this I had to think at a mechanical form of a sexual act, although I see that the left part is a face as well, and the tubes in the middle I would misunderstand for a penis are just a connection between the two faces. But on what purpose? Is it just a random act, or did you try to get a certain thought in it, or a certain visual element? As I can see three things:
The left face being connected with the right face.
The right face having oral sexual activity with a penis
The right face puking over the left face.

but to me...its more like how information travels and how peoples thoughts can effect others words and visa versa.

Oh my. I've seen your other piece, B L I S S and I had no idea your other works were so good. In case I may have been jumping to conclusions, may I ask if that is what I think it is?

GUDsine In reply to wintrycynicism [2005-08-15 22:49:17 +0000 UTC]

if im thinking that your thinking what im thinking your thinking then the answer is...no. to me its more about thoughts and communication. are we spewing our selves and influencing peoples collective thoughts or are we ingesting the collective. does that make any sence?

wintrycynicism In reply to GUDsine [2005-08-16 09:51:25 +0000 UTC]

Not quite. But when I saw the picture, I percieved something more of a an erotic gesture. You would much rather people percieve your works as how they want to?

In this case, I believe Machine is one of the most erotic things I've seen. Who knew that a felatio was quite pleasing to look at...

oh geeze.....i cant deal with it when people are this good...it scares me....

if i may, i know i know...you're the artists....but i think it would make this piece about a million times cooler than it already is (which is EXTREMELY COOL i'll have you know) would be if you could just see the guy on the left's eye, rotated around to be looking @ the other guy (the one who is eating his brains...just adding the little iris or whatever you would put there would look REAAALLY cool (imho) but thats up to you, its amazing as is!

ZippersAndNox In reply to farblache [2006-03-12 21:38:37 +0000 UTC]

dude, i looked at it and thought "oh shit giger" just like you. but you should realise that theres a difference between being heavily inspired and copying. im inspired by giger alot. but theres someone on this that takes pictures of his work and just does them poorly, and says its their work. this persons is original and well done, they deserve respect for that. also they have really good taste and arent a fanart kid, so they should get even more respect.

yes...what kind of comment is that? are you saying todd mcfarlanes spiderman isnt art because hes drawing something Stan Lee created? next time leave something constructive.
