You got me laughing out loud. I mean, that expression, I've never seen such one on a gull. So grumpy, it's like he's thinking "oh this is so boring, just fly fly catch fish fly again. My life is stupid.."

Why skeptical? You think that's what his face looks like? The title makes me wonder whether he's skeptical to make it back home across the sea... You captured him right while flapping his wings, and that makes his flight look rather laborious instead of their usual gracefull gliding in the wind. And the overall kinda dull and greyish light adds to that impression. But I don't mean to say the photo looks dull, in fact his labored flight looks impressive! If there's anything to be improved about this photo, than the wings could be sharper. I guess they're motion-blurred, since the beak and feet are focused. I like the fine pinkish line on the horizon breaking the ocean's and sky's grey, and the strong dark wave below echoing the bird's strong dark wings.

Lovely . And you pay attention to a flat horizon, hooray for you! The only thing I don't like is how the gull's left wing is just/just not cutting through the sealine. But since these are tough shots to get and you did so well, it's kinda worthless to mention.
