This tree, I love it. Mainly because
I used to play in it as a child, with a
childhood friend who is just memory
now, nothing present. But I know I
still know the curve of every branch.
The smell of autumn fills the air,
the mood of the season hangs in
these nights. The days feel like small
pieces of dreams that have long
since passed, calming me, calling
to me softly. I hear its words ever
so clearly as my thoughts capture
everything from days like this but
only, they are forever changed.
