I'm still not good at drawing people... -_-; and I didn't bother with neat line art 'cause I'm lazy.

This may apply to a few other games besides EarthBound; Have you ever accidentally selected an item that was useless? I sometimes did it in that game and then I thought, why in the world would the character your controlling go along with it?

Seriously, it just wastes a whole turn and probably gets you killed.
