More fanart then, which seems to work best for me to just get my hand back in and push myself to produce better artwork. Indeed, seems like this might turn out to be one of my best pieces yet ... which is fitting given that it stars one of my absolute fave comic book characters, the seriously, supremely badass Laura Kinney, aka X-23, a product of the resurrected Weapon X program (created in an attempt to recreate, through cloning, the lightning-in-a-bottle of Wolverine, albeit in a "more docile and controllable FEMALE version" ... which of course went spectacularly wrong for her inventors), a sometimes X-Man and member of X-Force ... she was once even briefly chosen by the Uni-Power to be Captain Universe ...

Anyways, like with my last X-23 pic I fancied having a crack at a bit of a redesign, giving Laura my own spin, although this time I reckon I've managed to come up with something a little more standalone, rather than quite obviously based on her X-Force costume. Even so, I've still gone with something that comes across as being all classically X-Men styley, but also keeping Laura's self-affected alt rocky hard edge. Hope you like, and I'm looking forward to inking/colouring this one soon ... in the meantime reckon I'd love to have another go at giving some of my other fave X-Men characters the same treatment ...
