Description DO not use this as reffrence for 100% realistic wings

Many have been asking me about wings lately, I guess this is the simplest way of explaining how they work without all those confusing feater parts of the wing xD

C: This is really helpful, so when you say don't use this for realistic wings, is it because you made this up of guesses or because you didn't include all the specific anatomy and positions?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

griffsnuff In reply to Davcat3307 [2014-04-23 09:23:29 +0000 UTC]

I did not include all the specific anatomy or feather placement :3 its just a simple shape to get how they bend and all. Besides this isnt the shape for all wings that exists either, since what wingtype it has depends on what kind if flyer it is

the thing is that wings are basically arms, with feathers on them. birds are built just about the same as we are.

please telll me oh master of wings how they do work then.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

Troodon88 In reply to griffsnuff [2013-09-30 22:06:23 +0000 UTC]

Well, not for pure criticism, but the remiges feathers don't arrange as you have represented.
The primaries are connected to the second finger of the "hand", while the secondaries depart from the wrist to the elbow and they're connected to the ulna.
There are no flight feathers on the humerus but there're tertiaries and/or coverts and they are very different in shape and structure of a classic remex.

This tuorial as said is not to include all the confucing feather partts, its the outer and inner shapes of the wing. Because not everyone out there grasps the shape and how it bends with all those, so none of us are wrong.
