I would say "quite simple!" but it wasn't

I bought a syringe from my local pharmacy (without the needle bit), pulled the plunger bit out and put some tape over the small end (to stop the smoke from escaping while I was filling it with smoke). Then I lit up some incense and held the syringe over the incense until it filled up. I then gently put the plunger back, removed the tape, posed and took the photo while gently pushing the syringe out. The lighting was done by an off-camera flash with an orange filter held over it. Surprisingly, it took only 50 photos to get this shot. Normally I would have expected double or even triple that amount ;D

And as my wife pointed out, the smoke looks like half a skull. Quite coincidental, for sure!

Yep. I'd get about 3-4 "squirts" of smoke out of the syringe before I'd have to refill, so I wasted a few sticks of incense and a few hours trying to get this shot right. Other shots I've done with water and incense have taken taken 100 or more shots to do and quickly filled up my CF card!

But in the end, I think it was worth it, as this is one of my favourite photo from my whole 365 day challenge.

Yep. I started it on the 10th of February 2010 and finished it on the 10th of February this year. Big turning point in my life, because I wasn't really into photography THAT much until I took the challenge.

Well worth it if you can keep up the pace. I slipped up once or twice, but I still did it
