That's super understandable and extremely relatable. I know for the Insect Charter took one of the most harmless Insects (The Boxelder Bug) and tried to turned them into basically Zorro.
Overall great way of making a cute animal a terrifying monster.

I know right, Marion (Character in drawing) went from a hired thug that wins at the end of the first book, to becoming a villain that appears in all the books to becoming the second protagonist (The real protagonist has yet to actually shown in the story) who is basically the pulp hero of the entire story. It's crazy how characters go through transformations.

Tell me about it, Dagon originally was a Liam Needing type character, older, deep gruff voice, the works, then he turned into Vin Deisol, now he's Jack Black....

Oh that is quite the change, I have always find it interesting on what type of characters other folks use.
As you cannot have them be too powerful or unlikable if not interesting in some fashion other wise they can be boring.
