Description
This biography of Mandor is largely inaccurate nowadays.
Mandor, or Manderis, was a lowborn Purtian boy born around the year 3200 of the Green Age. His parents chose to send him to the holy church of Alka, in the Riman region. Upon arriving in Alka, he was welcomed by the holy men of the Runic faith. His guardian would be a man named Euneris Atti, a very pious, honorable, and authoritative person, who owned land in Rima and had servants, much like any other noble. With Euneris as Mandors guardian he would read up on holy texts, and grow up to be as pious as Euneris. The Runic church also trained young boys in combat, and Mandor mastered the sword quickly. But he was also taught holy sorcery, powers that were equal to the Descendants own sorcery.
Mandor was set on becoming a high-priest, but after turning sixteen or seventeen, he was rejected further hospitality in Alka. And was told to go on a pilgrimage to the Maelan kingdom, where faith had recently gotten weak. He would travel to the Hemian lands to the north, aiding the newly converted who had gotten a foothold in Anviltorn. Going south, he arrived in Rilianos, the former capital of Helena "Tyrelis" Emporium, during her rule known as Crown Hold. Where he studied Rilian history and their recent imperialism.
Mandor had a typical western appearance, ethnically Purtian, sometimes mistaken to be a Riman. With blonde hair, a soft and narrow jawline, with a slightly protruding forehead, and defined eyes. Most Purtians are born with a straight and strong nose, but Mandor has always had a slight bent shape at the bridge area of his nose. Blue eyes at birth, infernal eyes during adulthood.
He was a natural born leader, speaking in an authoritative tone, and constantly thinking strategically. And not allowing his mind be clouded by his personal feelings on the matter at hand. Which is why he left for Ladusia later in life, despite having his heart telling him not to leave his loved one. He always took the defensive role in combat.
As he traveled further, he began to meet Descendants, most of them impoverished, Mandor hated them, and so did the Runic believers, who saw them as the sons and daughters of Sinus, the god-child who murdered his little brother. Rumors say that Mandor wanted to slay Descendants in the name of Rune.
When he became an adult, he left for Ladusia, where he would serve as an inquisitor for the church. He commanded thousands of Ladusian holy warriors, and attempted to convert the Ladusian royal dynasty, who believed in the Ladusian pantheons, along with millions of southerners. The force he commanded was part of a holy order in Ladusia, who had their headquarters in the mountains, surrounded by natural barriers. Only a small fraction of the Ladusian population were believers of the Runic faith, and the growth of Runic believers each year in Ladusia was very small, thus the Ladusian authority ignored the holy orders. The low growth was mostly due to the forbidding of pilgrimages to the cities.
During the looming Dark Years, Mandor served the Rilian army, where he would defend several strategically important regions, but never act offensively. He played a key role in the defense of Runes Eris, the church praised him as a saint.
The church preserved his name after his death.
He despised the Huxan migrates that had gotten a foothold on Eris after the Dark Years, due to the Huxan leader Seiza, the Colonial King, seizing former human lands.
May have been a Descendant himself. Many holy men and scholars argue that Mandors iris shifted color due to being enchanted by holy powers. He was an incredibly powerful man before his death, and if he was a Descendant he would have had runes on his body and face, a common mutation with powerful male Descendants.
Arguably one of the most powerful individuals on Eris before his death.
