Description
I finished my self portrait for art class! The myth of how Raven stole light is a recurring theme in my art...I'm really proud of this one. I think I got the highlights and shadows pretty well for once, and there's actually a somewhat-not-half-assed background. Oh, and *points to Raven* look at the deeeetails! Hot damn, that felt good to do feather detailing again.

Thank you! I do try to keep drawing. I am first and foremost a student of wildlife conservation, though.
It is always awesome to meet another person who has worked with birds of prey! Here in the US, we have rather strict regulations regarding falconry and migratory birds, so it isn't common for me to meet others who have shared my experiences.

I just love the story; I also love ravens. I hate how western culture reviles them and makes them out to be evil just because they eat carrion. They're brilliant birds to be admired. I feel a connection to them; dunno how it got there, it just is.
No, I have no Native American blood in me as far as I know. I'm actually half white and half... spaniard, technically... I try not to think in terms of ethnicity, though. I appreciate and am open to all cultures.

All of our art teachers are retiring, THANK GOD...Garcia was a jerk (which in the end was okay I guess, because I guess it "taught you something") and Mrs. Williamson was nice, but other thought she was like Mr. Garcia sometimes.
