Who the heck is the person that stole my comlementary colors compliment! 
Anyways, yes the complimentary colors added with the explosive motion of the sea work so well together. The first glance I had at it made that motion when you go from focused to unfocused. Very nice effect. You have excellent skill with sky and sea, which as simple as they are is a hard skill to acquire.
I can't decide how I feel about the ship. While it does take from just a scenic background by throwing in a human element, I don't know if I like that I get the feeling of dispair, despite the more 'happy' color combinations. With those waves, I don't think they're going to make it.
In the end I vote yes on the ship (like you'd change it anyways) as it got me (people) thinking about something more than "oh that's pretty," even if it is for only a second.
