the dalai lama came to paris today, and this morning he met the tibetan community in a hotel. She is a tibetan woman.
this is not a set up, she sat on this couch and i had noticed how this place could be a photogeneic spot... so when she sat i asked her if i could take a photo and she held the baby next to her face, smiling, i took a few shots and turned around, and when i looked back again she was in that position, so i took another photo.

it's interesting how you stated "this is not a set up" in your description.
of course, knowing you and your work, i was sure it was not. i think it's a great photo and looks too good to be not "set up", but i have shots like that and you and others too.
i just know the situation, when i show some of my prints of streetshots, that people don't believe it wasn't set up. i think it's a sort of compliment to be honest.

This whole scene looks like a painting. Indeed it was a good idea to have taken the picture. The lighting here works very well, it gives it the warmth and expressiveness it needs. Great shot!

You are just a magnet for these beautiful situations, aren't you? This is just fantastic and that it's not a set up is remarkable. I love the symmetrical composition, even how the signs have arrows pointing away from the seated Madonna. And then there is the painted woman and the patterned floor and the dark spaces on either side of the composition... Fantastic.

i quickly got bored of the room where the dalai lama was talking.. the room wasnt lit well and .. yeah. so i walked around and all those kids were playiing in the corridors, i took some shots. this woman went and sat on this couch, and i asked her if i could take a photo, she held the baby up to her head and smiled while posing. then i said thank you, turned around, and i looked back for a second and i saw this, took a shot without asking, and left. afterwards i showed her the photo and she liked it.
