That carrot looks like a sausage to me, Im sure Freud would find something wrong with me. I was just in Dublin and every bar has at least 6 or 7 bachelorette parties (or hen's parties) happening at once. Nice capture of a confusing phenomeon of contemporary culture.

What's all this about then? Is it like a French custom/culture thing? You probably have the same thing over there but before weddings we usually have like stag-nights (for the groom) and hen-nights (for the bride). Is this anything to do with that?
It's a really interesting shot though, very well captured! If not for the description I'd have thought it just to be some easter gimmick.
It's a very warm photograph though because of it's humor and I don't know sweetness I guess. Along with the description there's that sense of the wedding and the fun and all that. It's certainly a good job that you took it though, it's a great photo, very journalistic I suppose.
Good stuff!

lol! just kidding... considering some countries actually would feel uncomfy with the idea someone's hanging something quite 'obscene' to their own nature....

oh.. i had never thought of a carrot as phallic... it's a carrot. now if some people consider it's shocking to have a carrot around your neck, now THEY have a problem with sexuality.

One of the traditions of that area of the world - it is 'an announcing of intent' - and I find it fascinating.
Nice shot by the way, surprised that she let you photograph her, as she is obviously very embarrassed to be following the old custom.
