Description

In the wake of a spacer rebellion in the Sikarian Belt in early 2774, it took a coalition of over 4 minor nations and mercenary armies just to put it down. Though the rebellion was short-lived, it grew in popularity and gained support from many spacer sects from neighboring belts, mining systems, and beyond. It rapidly grew like a tumor, as mining station after mining station rebelled and voiced their independence from the nations that had owned or laid claim to them. Hastily a response was created from surrounding systems.
The Free Nation of Kasu, the Republic of Ellada, the Tzonal Oceanan Republic, the Tempest Magistrate, along with the mercenary fleets of Crimson Lotus and Black Cats Mercenaries.
The Free Nation of Kasu and Republic of Ellada faced near annihilation against the swarmed of smaller snub-craft employed by the rebel spacers. In the end, the reinforcing fleets turned the tides and utterly crushed the rebellion. The minor poorer nations, unlike the empires battling it out in other fronts and theaters at the same time, did not have state-of-the-art vessels, or gear, and ended up on relatively equal terms as some of the modified freighters the spacer rebels had put together. Missiles filled the stars as PDC's and railshot tore into everything they touched. Eventually, after a steady defense, more and more coalition fleets would come out of FTL, and join in the offense. The defenders resolve and fleet was chipped away at to the extent that survival was almost no longer an available option, and many vessels started suicidally rushing coalition fleets. Was better to die as a free man than live subjugated again.

A scene from my setting (and a semi-canon nation-states game I'm running in i) where two corvettes just started tearing into each other. The fleets were controlled by different people, and though the 'game' itself is only semi-canon so I can keep only lore-friendly content actually being made official, this one most definitely was.
