Finally got to wear these costumes at Otakon. Took buying a rooftop carrier to transport everything to con.I'm the Juno, and Yesod is the Thanatos, both characters are from the video game Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3.
This is one of my most favorite photographs from Otakon 2009!

I do other crafts to sell, but this isn't something I want to do for a living. It's a hobby and if it ever became a job, I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much.

Hey ok... so my friends and I are getting a handful of friends and we are doing a P3 cosplay... and one of us is planning to be Thanatos... being as inexperienced as we are... I think we're over complicating some... is there any like... step by step sort of thing that your Thanatos may let us use? I'd so appreciate it!

I've started my own Thanatos. Gonna be fast-casting the decals and fibregrlass-moulding the angels out of a vac-form. Gonna be intense stuff, but this is some inspiration! It'll be my third Persona cosplay!

How on earth you managed to have the 'wings' or floating thing, whatever it is @___@ to stand in there??

Underneath the bodysuit is a harness with hooks on the back. The wings have loops that catch on the hooks. Of course, I need someone else to put them on since it's kinda hard to do with everything else on.
I am thankful for wonderful friends who volunteer to be handlers!

My roommate is the Thanatos. A lot of both costumes' detail was made from carved insulation foam and then painted. The Thanatos has the coffins held up by a harness supposed by her shoulders and back.

How many hours did it take to fiddle around with the harness for the coffins?

Both outfits took us a good few months of work. But we had worked out the schematics of what we were doing before we even bought the materials so one we got the supplies, it just took time for us to build them. Lots of sawing, drilling, gluing, and painting. So I can't tell you how long it actually took. A lot of time was just painting and letting parts dry.
