My poor, patient sister. She requested this for her birthday months and months and months ago.Hopefully the fact that this Toothless is far superior to my original Toothless makes up for my lateness, a bit. Wool over a wire armature, so he's fully posable. The wires in the wings and tail are carefully embroidered into the felt - it took forever but I'm quite pleased with the resulting look which of course cannot be seen because of my usual picture-taking fail

This is so awesome! He looks great and poses so well! It must have taken a long time to embroider the wings, but the result is really nice! I never thought of doing wings like that.

I have no idea what insanity possessed me to think all that embroidery was a good idea. I got the effect I wanted, but holy crud it was nuts

At first I wondered if yarn would work better, since it's thicker and can be felted, but this little guy is probably too small for that to work.

Merp, I had the same thought (thicker! faster!) but yarn would only go in and out a couple of times before shredding into little self destructed bits :\ Maybe there is a more durable yarn out there??? Like I said, i got the look I was after, but there really has to be a better way!

He looks amazing! I love the details of his head fins/horns and his tail. That little smiley mouth makes me smile! Such tiny toes. So much fine detail with the wire work he came out absolutely beautifully!

Isn't that the way it seems to go the longer you take the more awesome things come out. You do have an amazing gift for needle felting though. I have actually gotten to see one of your lovelies in person and I must say they are even more amazing in person!
