The Boys vs Attack on Titan

Losing someone close to them (Robin and Mikasa's parents) both were saved by the morally ambiguous main character (Butcher and Eren) both decide to join up with them on their goal of exterminating a group which had killed a loved one (Supes and Titans) they even have superhuman strength which allows them to keep up with these beings (Compound V and Ackerman Awakened Power)

Eventually as the series went on they were forced to kill this MC because they were getting a wee bit too genocidey for their liking. They are also both from dark series'.
