This is actually an extremely late birthday present for my friend , it was supposed to be delivered in 2013 but look, it's 2015 and it's fianlly ready life got in the way for both of us and it got slightly delayed. Oooooooops XD
Now, to be 100% honest, Fra didn't chose the dress he wanted, it was my decision XD I'm a nice friend, I know XXDD

Making this coat was extremely rewarding as it had some interesting construction issues that I'd never encountered before, it was a real pleasure to make
If you are familiar with the series, the original coat worn by Rumplestiltskin was darker with a lighter vest, and sported light brown crocodile details. After some lenghty pondering, as Fra preferred darker snakeskin (that's actually made with shiny spangles but it looks like real snakeskin xD) we opted for a lighter brocade with roses and a soft brown for the vest. I really like the result, especially the snakeskin details
Moment of trivia. The rose pattern was chosen as a tribute to the rose moment in Skin Deep. Yes, I'm a nerd like that.

The coat itself is a rather unaltered mid '700 man coat patter I've had since forever, the major changes being the high stiff collar and the lapels.
The lapels were the most interesting part to make; it was challenging to get the "wave" shape right, it was an extremely enlightnening work of bias draping and cutting I had a blast figuring it out and I can now proudly say that strange lapels don't scare me anymore X°°°D
The decorative buttons are made of bronze filgree half spheres that complimented the outfit's colours nicely

For a series of mixed schedule problems Fra hasn't worn this dress yet, I can't wait to see how it fits him
