There is most definately a story there. I wonder what he would have said if you had asked him about it? And why you did not? I am sure the second question is easier to answer than the first, I am almost certain of that. But it is that first question that strikes so deeply at one's self that you can't help but wonder. That is the reason for legends, that is the meaning behind myths. Questions that go unanswered are in turn answered by the mechanizations of our minds.
Perhaps it is not too late to create a legend, or devise a myth? For a story told is history made.

I'm at a loss of words for this picture. All I can say is, this picture really makes you think about how everyone takes everything for granted.

I actually really like the idea conveyed here. It reminds me a lot of downtown Savannah (where I live) and I like (?) how you can see the people vaguely in the background through the gaps in the fence thing. Like it's keeping people like him out...or maybe people like them in? Anyway, it definitely portrays the differing societal roles and castes very well, regardless of whether or not people want to believe such things exist.

Beautiful - very understated, and a little sad. But it's a good shot. Who cares if it's something a lot of the people that watch you won't like as much? It's a beautiful picture anyway.

It's really nice to see something different from you, actually. You should definitely do different stuff more often, it's interesting.
But I might have to agree that the vignetting is too much here.

When I was in China.. saw a few "disabled" people. She had no wheel chair or anything. Just 2 blocks of wood for her hands as she moves her disabled body around on the ground that everyone just walk upon.
I couldn't help with tears as I was running away. I know I'm a bastard.

It's not your style but I think it's a good shot... not liking the pp, though, you edited this the way you always do but doesn't fit this kind of shot, IMO.

girltripped In reply to dEivIDmx [2007-06-26 19:24:48 +0000 UTC]
that's exactly why I did it that way... i wanted to maintain our style, because I've seen this type of shot before so many times in black and white. I don't think it adds any more meaning that way.
Oh BTW, I'm not sure if you got my last note asking what you wanted to do?

I know that most of this kind of shots are made in B/W and it was a good choice to make something different, but at the same time, I don't think your style totally fit this photo. But anyway, you did what you wanted to do and I think that's the important thing, to not compromise what you want and your style to get favorable comments.
On the note thing I didn't get it, could you send it again, please?
Thank you.

I think I'm kind of in love with this photo...
It's amazing. The colors are great, and it's just all around awesome.
I really like how this man is placed in front of a 'well-to-do' looking building. It's depressing, and thought-provoking at the very same time... It just shows how much we actually care about one another as a general populous.. And that is quite sad indeed.

This makes you think.
Should you be happy, or should you be sad?
It has this great powerful... meaning. I think it'll do fine in your gallery and it'll stand out way more than any of your previous deviations... just because people don't usually go out and take pictures like these.
Great work... I'm pretty sure you edited so the lighting could focus on the man.. but I guess I could be wrong.
Nice one. [:
