I think every now and again we all feel like this.

I recently rewatched “Avatar: the last airbender”. It was really interesting to see this series so many years after i watched it for the first time. A couple of things were really different then a remembered. Fist of all, it’s waaaaay more political than I remembered. And secondly, I noticed that in the beginning Aang struggles to keep his emotions under control, entering the avatar state when he found out Monk Gyatso died and forming some sort of reckless tornado. From that point the plot of the series is that Aang needs to learn to keep his emotions under control, through, in his case, meditation and opening his chakras. With the knowledge I have about mental health now, it was certainly a different experience watching the series from when I was a kid. I have tried to put “The Avatar-state” in a new jacket in this piece, through a more direct message.
