Description It's been literally years since I bothered to update Shiko's story. If you can recall back in 2015 I started what I called a "trivia" series, in which I drew panels of her most important story moments. Originally I intended to finish it with by including a 7th part, however I fell short on that promise. In reality I haven't had much to say at the time, especially because we had the next gen spin-off ahead of us; it's hard to make plans without knowing how the canon's gonna expand. However since I first saw the final Shippuuden movie I had this image in my head that I knew I wanted to draw at some point.

You see, what I didn't focus on during the development of the trivia parts is Shiko's relationship with the Konoha ninjas of her age. Truth to be told, she's very much the loner type, but precisely because of this quality she values the friendships she has more than average. The people who are the closest to Shiko (from her age group) are Sai, Shikamaru, Naruto and Hinata. Being her only lady-friend Shiko likes to visit Hinata at her home on a regular bases for - you guessed it - tea and biscuits, have a nice chat, an occasional heart-to-heart and so on. Despite what you may see on the surface the two of them possess similar qualities and share a lot in common, I'd be bold enough to say that Shiko gets along with Hinata almost as well as she does with her father, Kakashi. Given all this I imagined them having a cuppa while Hinata is knitting the famous red scarf for Naruto. Shiko sits by the table, tells Hinata how happy it makes her that she's taking steps towards who she wants to be with and encourages her to go through with the plan. What she doesn't say is what's on the back of her mind: if the man she fell head over heels for would still be alive she wouldn't waste a day without telling him about her feelings.

The thought of them spending some quality time together, being supportive of each other gives me all sorts of warm and fuzzy feelings - and that's the reason why I wanted to make this art. It took way longer to actually get there, but during the making of it I realised how much I've grown as an artist since I started drawing my Naruto OCs. Sorta like how the story is being unfolded right here. It may have taken long but the payoff was worth it. How much more wholesome can this deviation be?

Parts of Shiko's story:
Shiko Trivia (Part1: Pre-series)
Shiko Trivia (Part 2: Pre-Shippuuden)
Shiko Trivia (Part 3: Shippuuden's first half)
Shiko Trivia (Part 4: Shippuuden, before the war)
Shiko Trivia (Part 5: The 4th Great Shinobi War)
Shiko Trivia (Part 6: Shinobi war climax)
