I've been taking a break from producing posthumans for Anthropomundus to focus on building the more foundational aspects of the project. Today, I unveil the official world map of planet Anthropomundus!

The outlines of the landmasses were generated with the offline version of this planet map generator ( topps.diku.dk/torbenm/maps.msp). Since the map generator is prone to creating excessively rough continental outlines, I smoothed it out a little with my art program, and though the landmasses' relative roughness is still a subject of criticism, it's something that could be justified by the youth of the planet, since it is roughly two billion years old. It uses the "Mars" color scheme of that same program to give it a barren appearance.

The greens of this map, produced by terrestrializing sea grasses, are limited to equatorial and windward areas, in addition to floodplains supplied by mountain runoff. Outside of these areas, the soil is still rather poor. Posthumans are only beginning to establish a permanent land presence, 34 million years after the first human settlement on the planet, which is the point in time this map represents.

The landmasses for now are unnamed, and if that changes, they will be named with relation to to their size, shape, and position relative to the equator or prime meridian.
