i love this shot, very dynamic. perhaps a little correction (horizon seems to be ok) on the perspective could have made it a tack more perfect (if that's possible). and as i looked through your gallery, i wondered how you would like black&white film.

Thank you for the comment and suggestion. Yeah I had a hard time trying to figure out how to shoot and pp here, with the lower 1/2 and top at slightly different angles from a little hill. I took one photography class in highschool (10 years ago) and did enjoy it, we used b&w film. I picked up a dslr a few months ago and reteaching myself how to shoot, I am enjoying the digital side of it with the pp and cheaper costs overall.

well, i see. with this backround it's not surprising, that you can chose wonderful contrasty subjects. i never had a photography class or something like it and just recently got into analogue photography. i'm actually setting up a darkroom, i think this will be some fun

That's awesome, having your own darkroom would be very fun! Good luck with it!

I love it! I just have 1 comment...the base of the stairs is not really parallel with the edge of the pic...I realize I sound like a jerk haha but you asked for comments!

Thank for the comment! You don't sound like a jerk, I enjoy any constructive comments especially in such an early stage of my photography where I am just learning!

You are right and I did notice that when doing PP, I tried to level that lower part out but then the top lines looked off. I didn't have my tripod this day so I'm not certain if I was on a slight tilt or what. I guess I could take it into a free transform and warp it to level it out more.

Thanks again for the feedback!

you're welcome, keep it up!
I use Photo Scape, it's free and it has a feature that lets you correct the angle of your pic, as in you can rotate it very slightly.
