Gosh oh yeah I can imagine that It must be amazing to be around so many desert plants, they've developed such cunning ways to handle the heat and drought

I'm no expert on cacti. My guess would be "barrel" because they are surely not saguaro (or are they?). These are short and stubby looking, not the kind that show up in "Western" movies.

I actually grew up in the desert ...
and I did a report on desert flora , My brain's a bit rusty.
I'm not sure the flower color is right for a barrel , Hmmmmnnnn ????
