As others have said, wonderful job on the puppy. You captured the face and stance really well. To build on the comments about the red background- probably the only issue with red is that at such an intensity and splashing it can be read as blood- which is one reason why a green/blue/maybe magenta would work better.
I think it would add more interest to the piece if there was a toy in front of him, for example. It would go from 'portrait of puppy' to 'portrait of puppy while playing' and it would emphasize the playfulness and light-hearted tone. I love it! He's so cute! And the position is very realistic. It seems to be saying ''Play with me''. I also like the details of the face and of the nose and the eyes are so wide open that I can't stop gazing at them.
I don't really like the background color because I think it misses a bit with the main theme. I'd also have used a different color for the details (the light-blue details are little bit too showy). Those are only colors issues, but I know that the color is a very personal aspect in a painting, so mine are only very personal and subjectives impressions.

Aww, what a lovely bulldog puppy! He looks so real, I wanna just hug him and play with him! I can hardly notice anything that's off, so I'm not sure if I can say anything negative. The anatomy is done well, despite the fact that bulldogs are hard to draw, because they differ from standard canines in build. The wrinkles are just in the right place and the whiskers are a nice touch. The eyes look very life-like, good job! The only thing that can be improved is that maybe a green shadow would have been more suitable for the red background but apart from that, it's perfect!
