The Marine Corps has added the V-22 to the aircraft at HMX-1 tasked with Presidential and executive support. Notice the paint job does not include the white top so we’d be safe in surmising that this will be used for support functions.The first of up to 12 Bell-Boeing MV-22 Osprey tiltrotors are joining Marine Helicopter Squadron (HMX) 1, the unit tasked with transporting the President, other VIPs and their entourages. The Marine Corps was expected to take formal delivery of the first HMX-1 MV-22 last month. The MV-22s are replacing the CH-46E Sea Knights attached to the squadron and are being modified with upgraded communications equipment and seating. They are not expected to be used to transport the President. While they will be painted in HMX-1’s signature dark green, they will not have the white tops associated with the Sikorsky VH-3Ds and VH-60Ns used to fly the President.

Ooooo nice new paintjob! Just a heads up the v-22 just got a 7.62 electric mini gun pod near the chin for 360 degree defence on landings! AWESOME MACHINE.

I took a ride in one of these when they visited my base - badass from front to back, just like the Leather-Necks who fly them.

I've only seen them once, at Sky Harbor in Phx, AZ. So awesome to see them hovering in side by side over the city and into the airport.

Given the track record of the Osprey, I doubt that it'll be used anytime soon as the Marine Corp One.
The next generation... maybe.
