I love the colours - he wears just brown and seems a bit poor. But he's surrounded by a colourful nature with lots of freedom - so he's rich on the other hand side.

May I say that this piece, and please blame me for being a young whippersnapper to a place like Deviant art for this very comment, verily reminds me of Skyrim?
Its seems a more poetic version. As well as having a dragon to look apon the young adventuring bard as he crosses roads along wilderly fields. The voice is his, but he chooses to be the merchant/bard instead of the fighting champions he meets along the roads. A good man to heart, and not easily angered. If he is capable of defensive sorts, It must be magic, which points to the stick. A trust worthy companion on long and hardy roads, but also capable of giving that one kick, that makes the wolves leave him alone.
Or perchance, I think to much of the piece.
I like it verily, nonetheless.
