I was on a sweets fast two weeks ago. It feels like I've gone on a sweets feast this past week
This was inspired by a local bakery and the ridiculous and uncalled for amount of sweet stuff in my pantry, except the maraschino cherry. Those are gross.
Originally for a contest. I tried to make this look like one of those cool still life paintings, especially with the colors, but still not one of those at the same time...

Love the saturated colors in this as well as the subtle blending on the mermaid. Also really like how you do the curls in her hair and the backdrop, making it look like foamy cream with a touch of hot steam. Awesome work!

Great concept. I love the details, esp. the little marshmallow she's got in her "lap." The colors are wonderful, makes me think of ice cream dessert.

The shading and color choices here are amazing! This definitely reminds me of a still life painting, but with much more brightness and life. The greens and browns of this image make the reds and pink pop and I like the overwhelmed and somewhat apathetic expression of the mermaid. Looks like she had enough sweets for a while!

I'm sad because Mount Blanc (a company who produces chocolate & pralines) produces a lot of different shapes, such as chocolate frogs or owls, but they don't make chocolate mermaids! D:

This is a delight! Not so much a cool, moody, still life but more a Saturday Evening Post cover vignette. I do commiserate with the mermaid a bit. My hair was nearly that long when a classmate rubbed bubble gum into it.
