Description This is Master Systems Display of the UFP Constitution Class Venture. The Venture was commissioned in 2250, as part of Starfleet's plans to retire the aging Daedalus Class fleet. She spent most of her life exploring Beta Quadrant and patrolling the Neutral Zone. While still receiving systems upgrades, she never received the full refit her sister ships enjoyed, and by the end of 2293, was pulled back to Sol to serve as cadet training. In 2350, she was officially "retired", however she still remains on active roster.

At the outbreak of the Dominion War, she was retro-fitted with new offensive and defensive systems, sporting full phaser coverage, and 7 torpedo tubes. She was then pulled out of drydock and performed regular intra-system patrols.
She was first on the scene when the Dominion attacked Earth and was detrimental in stopping further attacks destroying a third of the attacking fleet.

After the war, she still played a heavy roll in solar system defense, and was once more called to action when a Borg Sphere jumped directly into the system. However, it wasn't long before the USS Voyager flew out from it, returning home after 7 years in the Delta Quadrant.

She was one of two Constitution Class ships still in service as of the Battle of Wolf 359. Unfortunately, her sister ship was ultimately decimated by the Borg.

Nice idea of the scale there, where the tiny figures are standing.... in the front section: is that the deflector dish?

Yes, it is. I have this idea that the actual deflector dish is embedded inside the ship, and that the satellite dish you see on the outside is just an extension.

Well, I recall Captain Janeway once saying that the deflector dish was integrated into many other things, so I also have to figure it extends deep into the ship.

I remember that too. I think it was where the Borg children where trying to tear Voyager's dish off with a tractor beam. One would figure if you were to do that, you take half the secondary hull with it.
