Description
Born in Beja, Portugal in '75.
Ended school in '92\3 to do mandatory army service at 18 for a few months.
In '96 met and kept Soulmate and started an apprenticeship with a Portuguese stone sculpturer artist Vera G. and her husband.
After the apprenticeship entered in the 3rd "Art Jovem" do Algarve in Portugal competition and received the 3rd place prize for marble and stone sculpture "Nua".
The sculpture "Nua", as most of the works I do, brings together the 2 most opposing types material - Marble & Sand stone, but within the same "type of thing" - Rock, to then find a process that will make them work aesthetically and structurally.
My sculpturer master sadly found it to controversial to put together such different types of rock and did what it could for me to not even get the 3rd prize... she failed!
In '98 I started an apprenticeship with the Master of ceramic and pottery Jorge Mealha and his wife Jannet Mealha that would carry on for a few years more...
At the end of that learning experience I was fortunate enough to do a number of exhibitions with works done in various types of media and in the following locations:
- Hotel "Bela Vista" (Praia da Luz)
- Restaurant "Pinguin" (Lagos)
- Restaurant Marias (Lagos)
- Mercado de Escravos (Lagos)
- Restaurant "O Cavaleiro" (Praia da Luz)
- Guest House, Vivenda Santo Phunurious (Lagos)
In 2005 movedto the U.K. and have since then been trying to find a new artistic path...
