Ha ha got me as well. I followed the wrong link somewhere and I thought I had finally found a DD without your comment on it.

A new feature has been launched that's designed to make interacting with others even easier than before! Deviant & Art Mentions are a highly requested feature that send notifications to your Message Center when someone mentions you or your work in a public location on site. 
How It Works
When another deviant uses the :dev: or :icon: codes to mention you, or includes one of your deviations in a comment or Journal, a message will appear in the new Mentions section of the Message Center letting you know, and linking you to the location. 
These messages are designed to help engagement between deviants, as well as to help further conversation on deviantART, making it easier than before to

Yes, they could call it that, but it's also a nice way to find out who's using your works in comments/journals.
