And here's the final! We managed to crank this puppy out in about an afternoon. I did some of the underpainting (like the water) and finished the critter on the right. Everything else is pure Mark Tedin. (Like anyone else would come up with monsters like that!)The fans seemed to enjoy watching us work, which did surprise me some. Art isn't exactly a spectator sport.

Ah, two behemot squiggly creatures = love at first sight. I predict profitable trade relations between the two kingdoms pictured below the monsters.
Is cool to see a collaborative project, two takes on creature design in the same comp. Is even more interesting is the choice of color palette - that must be a crazy challenge getting two folks' sense of tone and hue to match up on the fly like that.
