Well, it's a new year and I'm starting some new sewing projects!!This little Chibi Mars is all felt with hand embroidery--- she's so tiny that I had to stitch her together entirely by hand! Once the pattern was designed, the assembly is so simple, I'm thinking I can do one-of-a-kind faces.
I'll probably put a little loop of floss across the back so she could be hung up as decoration (or an ornament when the holidays roll around again) or stick a magnet to the back of her--- of both! I don't think she's quite sturdy enough to make a keychain, but you could certainly dangle her from a rear view mirror!
The only hitch is that it's hard to find decent colors in common craft felt. I've ordered some special wool felt that comes in 78 colors, so as soon as that arrives, I'll start making some of the other girls.
Whattaya think? I'm thinking of making a ton and selling them on my website....

I always thought it was spelled tchotchkes, personally, but to each their own; the English language is nothing if not mutable. Anyway, adorable plushie Mars and if I had any talent at all I'd draw her talking to the smiley orange, but I don't. So that aside was fairly pointless.

Not sure yet... I'll still refining and simplifying the design. The faster I can make them, the cheaper I can sell them for. Right now I'm thinking $18, but I'm trying to get that down.

This is one of the more eclectic pictures I've ever seen. Mars, dried out fruit with a face carved into it, a toy turtle, a warn mug depicting Felix the Cat being a tad more dog-esque, wooden monkey banana-mobiles...where IS this place?!
