While I am a huge fan of Emily de Ravin on Once Upon A Time, it's interesting to see that she was Belle, complete with Gaston and the iconic yellow ballgown...just goes to show how much a part of our popular culture the Disney version of the fairytale has become.
So here is my take on Beauty, from the original fairytale. Her dress is red, for the forbidden rose her father picked for her, and the fur is for the Beast she fell in love with.
Out of all of these portraits I've done, this was the hardest, probably because I know she has to be beautiful. I had to redo her a couple of times to get her right. I just psych myself out!
