I just adore Local. Both story and art were just perfect! And I read it all in one evening. Oh and When I finally got my copy I was totally KNOCKED OUT by it's unexpectedly awesome hugeness. And the most wonderful of it all, I can tell you this personally)

I don't see how you messed up on the colors. This reminds me of a Robt. Crumpb type of composition. I prefer this to the X-men stuff.

I feel I'm getting better or atleast buying better papers and art materials(!) I always had to do these in a rush though. Everyone does digital so I figure I gotta stick to hand-made-style to make it look like I'm special. I hope I'm special. I rememeber back in the 80's and 90's when all those covers were PAINTED like Swamp Thing!
