my boyfriend and I
( that's us! )I tried to invent a fursona for him and great dane was the only option in my opinion - anyone who seen him in real will understand. He's 207cm (6.8ft) tall and quite skinny at the same time. so for me great dane s perfect choice.
but Gabe was like "it doesn't have a beard so it's not me" :UUUU
I tried to draw a great dane with beard but it looked like a joke. of course a lion or bear would look good with more facial hair, but I simply like when fursona matches how the person behind looks in real life. just a bit.

Interesting. You look like a goat, fox, snow leopard mix. (At least, that's the way your fursona looks like to me.) Why not mix species in your b/f? You know lions standing on two legs would stand almost 10 feet tall and they do have a "beard", if you're willing to call the mane a beard. LOL.

When I think of a Great Dane with a beard, I think of an Irish Wolfhound. They're big and scruffy.

And what about Irish Wolfhound? They are really big, they can have 71 - 90 cm and when they stand on back legs sometimes they can be 214 cm tall. AND they have beard. Little but they have.

Sorry but I'm with your boyfriend. Not that I know him, so I can't speak for the personality aspect, but when I saw the pic I thought, "that looks like Fukari's fursona, but who is she hugging. Wasn't she with the dude with the beard?" You could keep the mustache by giving the jowls a unique coloring?
