I've wanted to draw a hanbok for quite a while now, and during a kind of awkward schedule day at school I sat down and sketched this out. Yesterday, since I was feeling mopey, I decided to color it a bit... it ended up not taking very long. Which was shocking.Even though I used a reference, I really am not sure about the particulars of these so I'm sure I made some technical mistakes.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww she is so pretty dear! I love the simple background because it makes the picture like a portrait that people hang on the wall.
My first thought when I see this picture is 'Jewel of the palace' a famous Korean series I watched long back. This is exactly the style I saw on the movie. I particularly love the flower decorations on her head.
The series I watched, ladies in the palace has a lot of decoration on their head while normal ladies who's a helper has nothing on.
Are not you think their outfit look heavy? I believe this has 3 layers? I see them wear this and running and I feel it was hard to run with this outfit haha
Ok back to the picture, i absolutely love the color of this outfit especially the 3 different colors of the inner layers.

The background was tricky, because it definitely needed something, but it did seem like it would be easy to have TOO much. I'm glad that you think that what I ended up with works.
I am kind of interested in watching some Korean shows just to see the fashions like this. I always enjoy seeing different cultural fashion, so that would interest me a lot. But... I don't have enough time for that I guess. XD
Hm... I don't think the outfit looks heavy. I guess because the fabric usually looks pretty airy, it seems like the skirts would be very billowy and light. But the hair looks like it would be a problem! I wonder how they keep their heads up like that... it seems difficult!

I love to watch different country of movies, especially the traditional one. Korean and Japanese traditional series are my favorite.
I love it because the attire tells their custom. We don't get this feeling when we watch western movies right? I live in modern city and many of my Chinese traditional custom learn from books and movies
