The town was cursed by a Wicked Witch, so that everyone would become some sort of monster or Halloween creature, forgetting their names in the process and taking up new ones, such as Wick. The Town she lives in is called Moonbrook, and is completely surrounded with corn fields on three sides, the other side is the entrance to the forest of something... not so benevolent. Wick herself runs an enchanted candle shop called the Dreary Candle, and the candles sometimes having different effects on her customers or giving off influencing auras. They also might steal your warmth, oops. She also has a habit of appearing as a normal streetlamp and making newcomers feel like they're being followed.
