Description Bought a new scanner a few days ago.
I'm unsure what to think of it...
It scans almost everything perfectly down to the grains of the very paper.
But in every single one of my drawings that I've scanned the face is all blurred. Just the face, nothing else...
On many different drawings...
Weird...

Aaanyway, this was drawn during a lecture on... something. With a ballpoint pen on the back of a notebook.

Haha, glad ya like it but I'm so astonished that so many like it. It's practically a doodle.

I wish things I spent days on got this much response, lol. ^_^

Well, that points out that you have a great talent, when your doodles turn out so wonderful - means that if you just let your hands draw just spontaneously, they make your thoughts visualized.. and the fact that so many like it, clearly shows that you have great ideas..

And yeah, it is sometimes weird and ironic.. But atleast you got me interested in your other things, as well

Hmm, well I guess it's not a _bad_ thing my doodles are liked but now I have to figure out how to put the doodle-ness in my more epic (for me) artworks.

I spied this in *Quaddles-Roost's last journal feature and had to fullview. Awesome penwork. Some of my favorite paintings were inspired by drawings on the backs of notebooks. Once I even sold a zig pen & sharpie collaboration I did with a friend over several days during class.
I think the face looks good.

Thank you, I'm glad you like it. ^_^

I can't help but being annoyed with myself tho, I sit and draw on schetching paper with pencil and eraser and it turns out so-so.
Then when attention should be spent elsewhere I draw ina medium that can't be corrected and mostly on lined paper. Or on paper that has to be handed in to some one... embarrasing!

The face was manipulated somewhat in PS to remove the worst of the blurriness. Me and the new scanner continue our struggle to understand eachother. ^_^

Ah, I do the same thing. Something about starting a piece just to be doing with your hands makes the end product higher quality than when you begin a piece with its finished product as your goal. When you just do, then you enjoy it more and your marks/strokes betray confidence and continuity in stead of looking unsure and awkwardly overthought. I like to work with the assumption that nothing can ever be finished.

great work. And the face is just fine, isn't it?
And the work with the ballpoint pen make a special plastic or three-dimensional effect. Nice to look at this work!

Well, in the end I scanned it in a ridiculously high rezolution and edited the face pretty much pixel by pixel. =/
But I'm glad you think it turned out ok, thank you kindly! ^_^
