This small castle is among the various tower houses that were the typical home of the gentry in 15th and 16th century Ireland. This particular structure was built in the late 1500s and was officially abandoned in 1840. My sister, brother-in-law, and I actually spotted it while driving around the countryside and decided to explore it. Suffice to say, it was amazing
