Due to all that happened to Idalia in Florida,
So, now that Cyclone Idalia has made landfall in Taylor County at around 7 a.m. as a category 3 cyclone, Yesterday, Cyclone Idalia thunderstorms that were heading inland caused a tornado watch to be issued for western Florida. For some of Florida's Gulf coast, an excessive wind warning was issued on August 30.
In Keaton Beach, structures and infrastructure were harmed. A record 6.8 feet of water rose close to Cedar Key, and storm surges in Tampa Bay and Clearwater exceeded 3 feet. Interstate 275 in Tampa was flooded, and U.S. Route 41 bridges in Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda were blocked.
While at least 75 people were rescued from flooding regions close to St. Petersburg, two people were killed in separate auto accidents because of the wind force. In Florida, nearly 200 flights across numerous airlines were canceled, mostly Tampa International Airport closed yesterday, and at least 278,000 customers lost power.
Just as the cyclone made landfalls in Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina as Category 1, it was the last to be a tropical storm.
