Description The Temple of Heaven in Beijing is enclosed with a long wall.
The northern part within the wall is semicircular symbolizing the heavens and the southern part is square symbolizing the earth. Chinese thought of "The heaven is round and the earth is square",....
the emperors would offer sacrifice to Heaven on the day of the Winter Solstice every year.
This ceremony was to thank Heaven and hope everything would be good in the future.
The Temple was built in 1420 A.D. during the Ming Dynasty

I'm loving China

The contrast between vivid color and dun, ashen stone is very striking and beautiful... The clouds really add something to the piece as well.

To be perfectly blunt, I really don't think it's fair that so many of your deviations are on the top favourites list. I mean, you're an amazing photographer, but this site is filled with amazing photographers, and a lot of them get left out.
This is a nice shot, with the bland colours contrasted by that bright red, very nice.

how do you get that contrast, clarity, colour and perfection in all your shots so easily?!?!?

another one of my favourites of yours... i think it is the minimalistic use of colours and excellent subject.

(i'm keeping this one in my inbox too)
