Description
Done with watercolor, both traditional brushes and airbrush on watercolor paper (11βx15β) Started with a rough pencil sketch. Painted the figure first, although not my preference. I usually like to have a background complete so it doesn't feel like I am trying to work around things. Although it seems to never work out that way. I guess I can say I work on a piece the same way I eat a meal. Little here and there, but always sure to eat the food that gets cold faster, first (thnx mom). This one is framed and matted. Woo Hoo.It was in the air as to what to name this one.
Was a toss up between Tar Babe and Pantomime. I did have in mind from the start this character would have a quiet personality mixed with a strong will. Sort of a fairy servant, hence the name Fairy Godfather.

Great work!! Do you apply the airbrush prior to watercolour? I'd imagine the watercolour is for the finer details, yeah?

The airbrush was pretty much used at the very end to give the gradient on the whole composition from bottom and fade to top with a transparent hue, I think it was a green. So long ago. One of the few times Ive used an airbrush. Thank you

One of the things that puzzles me and makes me so jealous is that people on DeviantArt can use WaterColors. Not only can they use them... They can use them well. I love how nothing in the picture seems to stay one color. It mixes and melds into a perfect little protrait. Good work.
