I think Bruno should have a ponytail as well because all men have traditional ponytails in the 18th Century.

Not really in Cinderella's case, it's 1890.

Nah, all men have ponytails like the horse driver.

Not really at that time. I think it's more like the fairy godmother has an old fashion sense. Cinderella's ball dress is older than their stepsisters, and the horse driver looks more Rococo in some things than from Victorian age. Just look to the prince the duke or the king. Any of them had ponytails.

According to some photos of the sevrants in powdered wigs in the live action, a lot of men had ponytails. That might be one of the flaws of Cinderella. We make mistakes.

The live action is not exactly a good representation for anything, it's just a mix of eras and costumes. Even Cinderella's dress is more a costume/barbie princess design than a historical dress( it would be an unfinished one due to the lack of details)... But anyway, it's just a ponytail xD.

People that are normally kind can sometimes just snap. When this happens it's called "Seeing Red" in some rare cases the person's eyes really turn red. I wished this had happened in the movie. Cinderella really should have left long before the ball. One cinderella story that took place in modern times had Cinderella staying because she needed money for school. This one had no such reason.

They didn't go into it in the movie, but I always thought it was obvious why she couldn't just leave. Think about the time period this movie takes place in. A woman just striking out on her own with no family backing was not often met with success or happiness. At best she could expect to be a maid in someone else's house (and pray they weren't as cruel), at worst she might've had to sell herself on the streets to get by.

Pinkgirl3 In reply to RichelletheDarknessQ [2013-02-23 22:29:40 +0000 UTC]

But you forget the house she was in. That was her fathers. At that time only a noble could have such a home. And her step mother who's a noble married her father meaning Cinderella HAD to be noble herself.

RichelletheDarknessQ In reply to Pinkgirl3 [2013-02-26 01:41:55 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but the stepmother is now the head of the family, which means she could disown Cinderella and deny her any right to claim her heritage.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pinkgirl3 In reply to RichelletheDarknessQ [2013-02-26 12:26:50 +0000 UTC]

Not if she wanted any money from the prince. In some cases the boys family would have to pay to girl's family so that their son could marry the girl.

RichelletheDarknessQ In reply to Pinkgirl3 [2013-03-04 23:29:06 +0000 UTC]

I mean before the Prince. That was the fear hanging over Cinderella's head for her entire life, and if she were ever disowned and thrown out, her life would very likely have gotten even worse.

Pinkgirl3 In reply to RichelletheDarknessQ [2013-03-05 13:37:35 +0000 UTC]

Still if the Step mother wanted the money disowning Cinderella would not be the way to go.
