Happy Holidays guys! looks like we're full steam ahead into 2016! time to get some of these last 2015 pieces up. heh.Harley Quinn and The Joker in their "Suicide Squad" looks.
Have wanted to draw these two since the designs were released.. had even started a couple sketches that I ultimately didnt do anything with. But I wanted to see the designs in a more "comic booky" style.
So this is that. hope ya dig it!

its the real joker. no way around it. they arent gonna do a batman with no joker. would be a waste of a character and a great actor. hes just got tattoos now. just gotta get over that part.. BUT heres hoping they go super dark and he gets his face cut off and uses it as a mask later down the road.

Β you have a point . it is the joker from the all Β star batman and robin / dark knight returns Β universe ( which had a cover with him tatted up ) Β so its mostlikely him.. but i keep remembering that dick greyson ended up as joker after joker Β died( mixed that with the paper bruce was holding that said Β " you let your family die " or some shit like that ) Β got my mind working on a what if ..Β
im more so hoping for them to commit a killing Β joke storyline to a batman movie... Β

I think it would be cool if they did Red hood in a batman movie though. And hey.. they could throw a curve ball and make it so jared leto used to be robin.. it just seems weird cause then batman and robin were the same age.. thats odd why even have him be robin then. seems weird. but still possible.. but I'd like to think the tatts just come from joker bein in arkham for however long batman has been retired. Ive got to imagine he put him outta commission after he killed robin. but still very possible. cant wait to find out.

I'll admit, I still feel weird about this version of Joker. But I think they just need to commit to it. Convince me and the rest of the world that THIS is the next, superior version of the Joker. I think that's the aim. And as long as David Ayer and the rest of the movie DC crew commit to that purpose, I think we'll all be pleasantly surprised

I apologize though, I wasted my time replying to those comments on the look of the Joker without commenting your work, that apart from personal tastes on the character designs, is very cool! I really like the magenta reflections on the characters to match the enviroment and especially the fantastic slimy expression of the Joker XD And Harley... well... <3Β

As I was telling someone else earlier "I didnt know what I was gonna do for the background until i was basically done coloring the characters completely.. I wanted to have a bright underlight and ended up going with the pink.. then everything else was just me trying to make that pink make sense enough to keep it." heh.

For those who are wondering, why joker looks like this, no offense, but if you actually read the suicide squad comics, you'd know why this look is actually accurate. You have to remember, joker was in prison during those comics, he had no classy look. That's what prison tends to do to people.

Except that those pictures aren't from the Suicide Squad comics XD Two are from Batman RIP, two are from Batman(new52) by Greg Capullo and one from All star Batman & Robin by Jim Lee (which is not even canon but an "Elseworlds" story). NONE OF THOSE are from Suicide Squad. Get your facts straight please, you're just being ridiculous

I'm torn by this ... while I'm used to Joker having some class and Harley not being so trashy, this is the perfect piece for where the DC Universe is going. Β

Yeah, I think I too am fond of the joker in his iconic look. So far I think its what works best. But I also think it very much depends on what type of character they make the joker out to be in this new film. For example.. think about how really weird the dark knight version of the joker would have been with the exact same personality and dialogue but dressed like animated series joker.. or 1960's joker. I feel like we wouldnt have found him as threatening with out seeing the scars torn into his face. Or the messily slopped on make up and greasy hair. All that stuff is to help bring out the character they want to create. So if they joker looks like this?.... I imagine theyve got something very strange planned. Im excited to find out what that is. I just hope its not just Heath ledger Joker with a marilyn manson skin on it.Β
