The drawing of Castle Grayskull kind of went out of hand. I continued adding pages to the original sketch and it ended up being three pages. Eternia and Snake mountain were drawn individually and merged later on.This took forever to colour, it's really not my thing. I keep getting caught up in the details. But I'm quite happy how it turned out, I could have tried to get more of an... atmosphere, but this I feel represents the old cartoon in a nice way.
I tried to pick everything I liked about both cartoons, the original and 200x. I replaced the viper tower with the 200X Snake Mountain which I thought fit better. The old viper tower looked a bit dorky, and the filmation Snake Mountain will always win over the 200X. I tried to draw the Snake Mountain bridge as it was in the cartoon, one of my favourite backgrounds, the fangs were so cool. I figured I could merge that with the "monster mountain" from the old toy bringing all looks together.
Did the same with Eternos in the background. The 200X palace had these really cool pillars and towers, I added them to the Filmation's look...
This was a lot of fun, but I'm not doing it again anytime soon. I'm all out of breath after this one
