Description Image pack only.

73 variously-sized brushes, made from public domain images of genuine documents from the late 1800s to early 1900s! They include 16 manicules (or printer's fists), 2 people (the gesturing gentleman and a lady holding a platter for tea), 17 lines, 11 ornaments, 9 frames and borders, and 18 objects (pianos, bicycles, watches, et cetera). Every brush used on the preview is included in the pack!

I'm tentatively okay with certain commercial use (e.g. used on a banner for a commercial website), but it would be nice if you would contact me first. If you have any questions about usage, just ask!

Credit is preferred, but not mandatory.
Don't claim these as your own.
Enjoy!

Hello!
This is a gorgeous brush set, and I was wondering if I could use some of the brushes for a commercial logo I'm making for a friend?

Hi flowersong, I would like to use these brushes in my brochure for my health and wellness studio, however i am new here and not sure how to open or even download from here. I will do some more searching, any help is greatly appreciated and thanks again for putting together such a wonderful package.

I know these were uploaded a long time ago, but I still wanted to say thank you so much, this pack has been incredibly helpful to me.

You say that it's okay to use these on banners for commercial websites? Just wanted to double-check...because I want to respect terms of use and such.

Either way, will definitely use them for personal works on DA

Extremely late reply, but thank you for the comment! Yes, the "commercial use" you have described sounds fine. Again, thanks--I really appreciate hearing that these have been helpful!

For some ridiculous reason, I can't get your brushes installed. I've never had a problem like this installing brushes before. No matter what I try, they just won't show up. It's making me nuts because these are EXACTLY the sort of brushes I was looking for, and I can't find anyone else offering anything similar.
Is it my version? I have Photoshop CS2 on a PC.
?!?

flowersong In reply to tursiart [2010-08-06 18:16:53 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, are you trying to install them as Photoshop brushes directly? I probably should have made it more clear: this is an image pack (I didn't have Photoshop when I made these) and so you have to manually define them as brushes. Open up the brush you want to use and click "Edit > Define Brush" or "Edit > Define Brush Preset" or whatever you have there. Have you tried that? Hope it works for you!

tursiart In reply to flowersong [2010-08-06 23:36:31 +0000 UTC]

Its okay, I ended up figuring out how to open them as images and used them that way. I don't know how to make a brush.. I'll try your suggestion next time. Actually, I just recently discovered the wonder that are brushes... There is still a lot about photoshop I don't know about. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Also, sorry if my post came off as rude... I just re-read it and I sound like a jerk. I was super frustrated at the time.

If you are interested, I used them here: [link]

I am considering using these to embellish small areas of a poster I am designing for a poster contest.

If I win, the poster will be used to advertise a band's music. Is this allright?
