((Another fab collab with False-Paradoxes <3 I went back to my roots a bit with the shading style, its a little more on the comic style but trying to bring in some of the lessons learned from painting. Things are starting to click and look good, just gotta keep going Fun fact about Penny: she has really good control over her glow but it does tend to be linked to times of high emotion for her. Happy, angry, a few other states in between. The glow starts at the extremities like her fins, and slowly works inwards towards the white markings across her body and face.))

Penny's kazish were allowed into the vast complex known as The Hive, but only just. It had been a fascinating process to watch the Ankuri inspect her beloved companions (for which she felt guilty about the curiosity) but it pained her to see others prodding and poking at Iolite and Carnelian. The minute they were cleared, they flocked to Penny's shoulders and barely left her during the whole time in this place.

Finding Muriel was a salve to Penny's tender soul. Not only could they talk shop - Penny was tech savvy and former Medic Company (very under the radar though, she hid this from her family) - but they could also revel in a shared joy for kazish. Penny smiled so much when Muriel described how her own kazish would get protective of her - she glanced to Carnelian gliding above. The bossy one, the protective one. Iolite meanwhile happily engaged in nose-booping. The soft one.
